Chocolate Chip Quick Bead {1}

Welcome to the first blog of the series: Confessions of an 18 Year Old Baker. This series will include the real life confessions while baking. I'm not even close to a perfect baker and I'm not trying to be.

Chocolate Chip Quick Bread

Today I have made some super easy chocolate chip bread! I'm not a professional and you will see a bunch of mess ups and mistakes, but this is real life ladies. So, grab your Betty Crocker muffin mix (nope I am not gonna even attempt to make this from scratch), and lets get started. Yes, we are using a muffin mix, but I'm making the alternative which is the quick bread!

Ingredients:

  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/4 cup of Vegetable Oil
  • 3/4 cups of Water
  • Muffin Mix
  • 8x4- or 9x5- inch loaf pan

Servings: 16

Preheat your oven to 375

Confession number 1: I only used the watermelon (1/4) cup in the making of this blog, but the set is just so cute. Oh and my glasses are just for decoration.

Add all of your wet ingredients together: eggs, vegetable oil and water.

Confession number 2: The first egg I cracked, I got a shell in the bowl. Yup, go me!

Mix them all together!

Slowly add in the muffin mix, until you've added the whole bag!

After everything is mixed, grease your baking pan and add the mix!

Confession number 3: half way through pouring the mix, I realized I hadn't greased my pan!! So I poured everything back into the bowl, rinsed it out and started again.

Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Confession number 4: I didn't set a timer until about 20 minutes after it had been baking.

Let cool for 15 minute, then remove from the pan and finish cooling for an hour.

Confession number 5: Did I grease my pan well enough? Nope. So, when I took it out of the pan, this happened. #NoShame

Finished cooling! Now.... we cut.

There ya have it folks, yummy chocolate chip bread!

Confession number 6: I cut the bread into bigger chunks because it was falling apart. LOL @ me. It still tastes good no matter what it looks like.

I could sit here and pretend everything went perfect and smooth, but isn't this funnier. In the end, I made yummy chocolate chip bread and it will be gone by Wednesday.
