2018 Reflections

Good evening friends and happy Saturday! I can’t believe it’s 2019, that’s so crazy! I thought today I’d reflect on my 2018, and talk about the changes I’ve made!  

1. Self love

Ever since Elementary school I’ve had some confidence issues. And this past year I just decided that, confidence issues are just a waste of my time. I truly have been so much happier just accepting myself and my flaws. It took me a while to get here, but now that I am, it’s a blessing. 

2. Less Meat

Almost 3 years ago I had my gallbladder and appendix taken out because it was making me so sick. Ever since I’ve had problems with eating, it was almost everything I ate would get me sick. So I finally made it a goal to figure it out. Sadly, red meat was a big factor. So I’ve been eating mostly rice, chicken, veggies, LOTS OF SEAFOOD, and salad! I’ve noticed a huge change in my body + my attitude. I mean how happy would you be if you get sick every other day. It was rough.  

3. Standing my ground

I used to be someone you could push around and make me say yes all the time. Not anymore friends.  

4. Military Relationships aren’t bad

Military relationships take a lot of work and patience. You have to understand that the military comes first, and that your spouse will always try to make time for you. Goodbyes are never easy, but it doesn’t mean you can’t do it. You have to keep moving forward and focus on seeing your person again. I’ve met one of my bestest friends through the Navy, her husband and my fiancé go to the same school and we instantly clicked. This community will support you and help you because everyone is going through it too. 

5. Photography is amazing  

I have loved every second being a photographer. Capturing special moments, meeting new people, sharing stories and connecting with other photographers. It’s truly an amazing community and I’m so happy to be apart of it.

6. Stop living 2 weeks in advance  

Being a nail tech it’s hard not to live 2 weeks in advance, your clients book 2 weeks out, you are always constantly thinking about the next few weeks. It’s hard not to live in an advance moment when that’s all you do. I’ve slowed down, stopped thinking so far in advance. Let plans come as they do. My anxiety levels have gone way down I swear!
